High School Students,

Here are some helpful instructions for using Zoom.

Zoom Instructions

UPDATE: March 20th:

On March 19th we posted on Facebook that Sonora will begin delivering meals to those students that needed them on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week that we are doing our home-based learning. We attached a short survey and asked you to fill it out and submit. Currently, only 17 people have responded to the survey.
We do not want any of our students to be hungry during this difficult time and we understand that parents/guardians might not be able to get off work and pick them up. So here is an old-fashioned way to request having meals delivered to your door for any child ages 2 years through 18 years old. You can answer the following questions and email them to or find the survey monkey questionnaire on Facebook and complete it.

Q1 Do you need meals delivered to your home for your children?
Q2 Please provide your name for contact.
Q3 How many children (ages 2-18 years) live in your household?
Q4 Please provide a telephone number where you can be reached.
Q5 Please provide your physical address where meals will be delivered.
Q6 Do you consent to have meals delivered to your home from the school?

Sonora ISD teachers and coaches are utilizing Remind to communicate with students and parents during this time. The Remind app can be downloaded for free on smart phones and tablets or you can communicate via text as well. Just follow the texting instructions at the top of the directory. Here is our current directory of Remind accounts by teacher/subject.

SHS Zoom/Hangout Meeting Times

Parents and students, Sonora High School will be hosting times for your children to virtually meet with their teachers and classmates each week. This is a time that can be used to ask questions, get clarification, or just chat with their peers and teachers. You can join with any device or even with your landline. Teachers will be sending out the information for their meetings to your child’s school email address before Monday, March 23rd. The meetings will also be recorded and then posted to the teacher’s web page and/or Google classroom. This is a new game for all of us, so please be patient as we work to make things the best we possibly can for our students. See schedule link below.

COVID-19 Update (March 13th):

Sonora ISD is actively monitoring the coronavirus situation. As of right now we are on regular schedule for Monday, March 16th. In the meantime we want everyone to continue to wash their hands regularly. Our schools have been disinfected using the Clorox 360 machines and we will continue to disinfect on a regular schedule. If we discover any confirmed cases of the coronavirus in our area, we will then make a decision on closing the schools. We will continue to use Facebook, Twitter, and our call home system as needed. Everyday we will be getting updates from the Commissioner of Education through a telephone conference call.
